Standing Movement

The work consists of a blown glass ring resting on a solid, cast glass base. The ring is formed in hot glass as one continuous gesture and later refined in the coldshop. It holds traces of the hand’s movement and the material’s response – a shape that is open, yet contained.

The base is cast in clear solid glass and facet-ground to create a stable and transparent foundation. It adds both weight and clarity to the work, creating contrast with the more organic expression of the upper part.

Together, the two parts form a balance between the stable and the fluid, between direction and pause. The piece stands still, yet holds movement – like a line stopped in mid-course.
