Stand

Stand is a sculptural exploration of density and transformation — created from recycled glass shards, melted into a heavy, circular form. Cast in a hand-built plaster mold, the surface retains the rawness and tension of its origins. The glass body is extremely heavy — a condensed mass of material, defined by weight and presence.

It rests on a custom-made steel stand, designed to appear light and precise — almost impossibly so. This contrast is intentional: the massive form seems to float, suspended by something barely there.

Stand is about reassembling what was once broken. It’s a story of change through pressure and heat — of how something new can emerge when a material is given space and resistance. The balance between stability and fragility invites the viewer to question what supports, and what is supported.
